Character Development Program

CVES IS LOOKING FOR SOME REAL CHARACTERS!

On the morning of Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 during a school-wide assembly, Castor Valley Elementary’s new Character Development Recognition Program was launched. This program reinforces these ten character traits introduced last year:
Acceptance, Respect, Appreciation, Responsibility, Fairness, Optimism, Perseverance, Cooperation, Integrity and Empathy. The goal of the program is to recognize every student, teacher and staff member at CVES at least once this year for displaying one of these traits.

Nomination ballots and submission boxes are available in each classroom, in the library and in the front office. Submissions will be displayed in the foyer and halls of CVES and a recognition certificate will be sent home with the student being recognized. Check out our Character-Meter on the wall beside the library to track our progress and watch the Eager Beaver newsletter for ongoing reports.

Please encourage your child to be on the look-out for others displaying these important traits and to get caught caring themselves!

If you have questions about this program or would like more information, please contact Jen Danby McDonald
